Prof. Graziella Bruno is Professor of Food Science at the University of Turin, specialist in Diabetology and Metabolic Diseases, Dietetics and Intern Doctor with more than thirty years of hospital-university clinical experience.

Internationally renowned researcher on the epidemiology of cardiovascular risk factors, dyslipidemia, obesity, diabetes, he has achieved important scientific awards for his intense and original scientific activity in these areas. To this path he joined his passion for clinical activity.

Expert in the diagnosis and therapy of internalistic, cardiovascular, nutritional and metabolic diseases, she deals in particular with hypertension, obesity, type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes, hypercholesterolemia, hypertriglyceridemia, hyper and hypothyroidism, nephropathy, hyperuricemia, anorexia, osteoporosis, gout, psychosomatic disorders (nervous hunger, bulimia, gastro-intestinal disorders, hypochondria). Particular attention is paid to nutritional problems in the various ages of the woman (adolescence, pregnancy and breastfeeding, menopause).

In addition, thanks to human sensitivity, cognitive-behavioral therapy and yoga-therapy skills, combined with long-term internal clinical experience, it has developed a capacity for listening and taking charge of the various clinical problems with a holistic vision, which puts at the center the patient and not the pathology, in order to direct the diagnostic and therapeutic path in synchrony with the other specialists in the sector.

Associate Professor in Food Science since 2005, he has been working as an Internist at the University of Internal Medicine Division 3 of the City-Health and Science Hospital, Molinette, Turin since 1990. From 2015 to 2017 he was Director of the School of Specialization in Food Science and President of the Degree Course in Dietetics of the University of Turin. He is an international researcher on the epidemiology of type 1 and type 2 diabetes and on cardiovascular risk factors. He is the scientific manager of the Piedmont Diabetes Registry which monitors the health of the diabetic population in Piedmont in collaboration with the Diabetes Commission of the Piedmont Region.

She has been a member of the national executive councils and regional president of the Italian Society of Cardiovascular Prevention (SIPREC), Italian Society of Diabetology (SID), as well as coordinator of the first two editions of the Italian guidelines on the treatment of diabetes (SID-AMD standard of care) . Lastly, she was a member of the working groups of the Istituto Superiore di Sanità for Gestational Diabetes and Integrated Diabetes Management.
